I’ve been delayed in posting this, but I finished yet another embroidery.

It took a little over two skeins of orange thread to make the background. Since I split up the strands of thread, that’s over 100 feet of orange in an eight inch embroidery.

I gave an interview over at Feeling Stitchy last week, and I was also profiled a while back in the Mr X Stitch blog.
The nice folks over at Gallery Hanahou also sent me a copy of the February issue of the Village Voice, and my name is in it! I’ve been printed!

I haven’t posted many graphics in a while, so hopefully I’ll get some new ones up soon.

Yesterday was Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday, so I thought I’d make a little President’s Day wallpaper in honor of our 16th president. This design is available in five sizes, including some super-widescreen versions.

This new wallpaper has doodles of all 44 presidents, including all the boring ones that history seems to have skipped over, such as Millard Fillmore, John Tyler, and Franklin Pierce. Preview the wallpaper here, or click these links:

There are two other new backgrounds available (in addition to the other 70) that are a little less Valentine’s themed, if you’re not in the mood to celebrate. There’s six new iPhone wallpapers available as well.

I’ve added a new section to the site that has seven new printable papers that you can use for scrapbooks, collages, origami, wrapping paper, or anything else you can possibly think of to do with pretty paper. They are high quality PDF files that can be printed on your regular inkjet printer, or can be loaded onto a USB drive and taken into a print shop. They are all free for personal use.
I just wanted to say a quick thanks to any subscribers of the RSS feed. Last month was Totally Severe’s busiest month ever, due in no small part to the fine folks at CRAFT magazine, who mentioned my embroideries on two occasions.

Don’t forget about Forget Me-Not! The above embroideries will also be for sale at the show. I am curious to find out if a market exists for hand-sewn portraits of minor television celebrities.

The great part about all this is that I get to brag that I was in a show on Broadway. Much in the same way that I brag about attending Stanford (I was there for three days being trained how to make a high school yearbook. Really, does it get any nerdier than yearbook camp?).

Anyway, I’ve also added two new backgrounds, and a new section of printable silhouettes. I don’t know if anyone will actually use them, but at least they were fun to make. I used public domain images for the profiles, so the silhouettes are mostly of Civil War soldiers and wanna-be Gibson girls.
