The Yellow Wallpaper

I’ve added six new background patterns today, which means that this site now features OVER 100 tiled designs!
One of the new designs is based on the short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman called The Yellow Wallpaper. It’s the story of a woman who quietly goes insane after she stares at patterned wallpaper for too long. There but for the grace of God go I.

I quite enjoy the yellow wallpaper pattern. Though, the woman in the story was arguably already highly distressed even before being kept in the room, due to postpartum depression.

You’re right, she was definitely already suffering before the story begins. Maybe the wallpaper was the straw that broke the camel’s back and finally pushed her into insanity.
